Unbelievable! How Woman Kept Her Mother's Dead Body Inside Their Home For Three Years > peerielmedia9ja.com

Reclusive Gaynor Jones, 83, was found covered in grit amid piles of rubbish containing human excrement and urine.

After police forced their way into the cluttered home she shared with daughter Valerie, 57, in Aberaeron, west Wales (pictured: A view of the cottage).

A daughter lived with the body of her dead mother for up to three years after 'embalming' her with road gritting salt, an inquest was told.

Reclusive Gaynor Jones, 83, was found covered in grit amid piles of rubbish containing human excrement and urine after police forced their way into the cluttered home she shared with daughter Valerie, 57, in Aberaeron, west Wales.

An inquest heard widow Gaynor had not been seen alive for three years, with Valerie failing to raise the alarm over her mother's death - instead opting to buy four bags of salted road grit around Christmas 2015.

The coroner believed the salted grit had been used by Valerie to 'embalm or cover up her mother's body' in the house.

The hearing was told the mother and daughter were obsessive hoarders and the house was full of clutter.

Unmarried Valerie was found collapsed after police went to carry out a 'welfare check' at the cottage and she was suffering with dehydration inside the property.

But the hearing was told there was so much rubbish in the house and garden it took police a week to find the remains of her mother.

Gaynor moved into the country cottage with her daughter in 2012 after the death of her husband - but it was described as 'uninhabitable' because it had no running water or electricity.

Gaynor had not been seen alive since July 2015 when she went to a doctor's appointment.

The hearing at Aberystwyth Justice Centre was told Valerie had purchased four bags of rock salt in December 2015 and January 2016.

Valerie has told neighbours her mother was staying with relatives or in a care home and wouldn't let anyone inside the property.

Valerie was suffering severe dehydration at the home and rushed to hospital.

But it wasn't until seven days later that police found human bones buried under a mountain of rubbish - with the remains having been there 'for some time.'

Detective Constable Carys Sisto said that when Valerie woke up in hospital she said she could not remember her mother's death - and gave the impression to visitors she was still alive.

An inquest was told the mother and daughter were obsessive hoarders and the house was full of clutter (pictured: The scene outside the cottage)

In police interviews Valerie suggested she understood one of salt's uses was preservation.
DC Sisto said: 'The mother's body was found under a layer of rubbish and tarpaulins.

'She was covered with grit and another tarpaulin, surrounded by bags of rubbish which contained human excrement and urine.'

After Gaynor's body had been found, Valerie suggested to a family member her mother would be able to fix an item of clothing - and had to be reminded again that she had died.

She later said mother had died when a bookcase fell on her - but no bookcase could be found in the 19th century home.

The inquest was told Valerie was now being cared for in a mental health facility and it was not in the public interest to charge her with any crime.

The hearing was told no cause of death could be ascertained and Gaynor could only be identified by her DNA.

Coroner Peter Brunton said there was no suggestion she was involved in the death but she could have been charged with preventing lawful burial of a body.

Mr Brunton said Gaynor died between December 2015 and the end of 2017.

Recording a narrative conclusion, he said: 'There are so many uncertainties in this case, but it is clear there doesn't appear to be any third party involvement in Mrs Jones' death.

'On the balance of probabilities Gaynor Jones died of natural causes and her daughter took measures to embalm or cover up her mother's body because she was unable to report the death to the authorities.'

Mr Brunton said his sympathies were with Gaynor's neighbours and friends and added: 'While there are a lot of uncertainties surround the death I am confident is nothing sinister about it.'

Arsenal launch £40mbid for Crystal palace forward wilfried Zaha

Dailysunnews9ja

Wilfried Zaha's dream is to play at Arsenal, his Brother told news men.

Arsenal have launched a £40m bid for Crystal palace forward wilfried, the 26 years old has been heavily linked with the gunners this summer with this, understood that the player want to stay 8n London and play European football.

However, with Crystal palace already losing Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for £50m, the club do no want to sell Wilfried Zaha and value him at £80m double what Arsenal have initially tabled.

Back in 2015 another factor to consider is that United have a 25% sell on clause after he rejoined palace from old Trafford.

Wilfried Zaha will always hold Crystal palace and their fans in the highest regard and all the support they have given means the world to him. Zaha's brother judiceal told sky sports news

It's my brother's dream though,to play for Arsenal.
"Given all that wilfried zaha has given to Crystal palace to help them remain a premier league club,I hope Crystal palace will be able to see thier way to agree with the deal with Arsenal, that allows Wilfried zaha to realise his dreams of playing European football for the club he supported since childhood." Judiceal said.

Wilfried Zaha is not Arsenal's Priority > parlour

Arsenal former midfielder Ray Parlour warned arsenal about spending their entire summer transfer budget on wilfried zaha, despite his quality.

When they have other positions to address in the market it's going to cost as much as £100m which is alot of money, it's too much to splash out on one player.

I know it would be good signing but it all depends on how much he is going to go for. Parlour said.

We need to look at other players and other defensive positions that need strengthening as well.

Depending on the budget we have to wait and see what happens but he is certainly a very good player with a lot of quality. Parlour said.

Can Arsenal Afford Wilfried Zaha
The transfer shows that arsenal could struggle to afford Crystal palace winger Wilfried Zaha this summer.

Kim Kardashian: Blasted by Japanese for Naming her New underwear line KIMONO

Dailsunnews9ja

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to controversy but we bet she never saw this one coming.

The reality Tv star's newest venture is the shapewear had described as ‘inclusive and celebrates and enhances the shape and curves of women’, but the Japanese are not having it.

The Japanese kimono, traditionally a loose long-sleeved robe typically tied with a sash, dates back to 15th Century Japan and is mostly worn during special occasions.

Kim Kardashian’s use of the name for her shapewear has been termed ‘disrespectful’.

“We wear kimonos to celebrate health, growth of children, engagements, marriages, graduations, at funerals. It’s celebratory wear and passed on in families through the generations,” one Japanese woman, Yuka Ohishi, told the BBC.

“This shapewear doesn’t even resemble a kimono – she just chose a word that has Kim in it – there’s no respect to what the garment actually means in our culture.” She continued.

Kardashian West, who trademarked the Kimono brand last year in the US, has also filed trademarks for “Kimono Body“, “Kimono Intimates” and “Kimono World“.

Many people have taken issue with the fact that she trademarked a word of huge cultural significance in Japanese culture. Others were annoyed that the traditional garment now shares the same name as an intimate wear brand.

Using the hashtag #KimOhNo, they have taken to social media to protest the use of the name ‘Kimono’ which they described as a ‘disrespect to their traditional clothing’.

See some of the tweets below:

@TrinityNYC wrote: Absolutely tasteless and awful. You have ZERO respect to the Japanese culture, do you. What’s wrong with you. I’m from Japan. For us, Kimono represents the beauty & elegance of the country’s tradition. Your spandex underwear brand has nothing to do with it. I’m offended.

@bunkaiwa wrote: I feel very sad that the name “Kimono” is being used to something completely different from what we Japanese know about it. Kimono is Japanese traditional clothes and we are very proud of its history and culture. I’m sorry but I feel this name choice is simply ignorant. #KimOhNo

@yukokato1701 wrote: Nice underwear, but as a Japanese woman who loves to wear our traditional dress,👘 kimono, I find the naming of your products baffling (since it has no resemblance to kimono), if not outright culturally offensive, especially if it’s merely a word play on your name. Pls reconsider

Sports News: Man Utd sign Daniel James

Man United signed Daniel James

The Wales international has completed a move from Swansea City, becoming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first new recruit at Old Trafford

Welsh winger Daniel James has officially completed a move to Manchester United, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.

James enjoyed a stellar 2018-19 season at the Liberty Stadium, contributing four goals and seven assists in the Championship.

He will now have the opportunity to impress in the Premier League, much to the delight of United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian manager expressed his excitement after sealing the club's first summer signing, stating: “Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic. He had a great season with Swansea City and has all the attributes needed to become a Manchester United player.

“We are delighted he has signed with our club and we are all looking forward to working with him. This is the perfect environment for Daniel to continue his development.”

James was in an equally positive mood when addressing reporters, admitting that he cannot wait to embark on a new challenge.

“This is one of the best days of my life and a challenge I am really looking forward to," he began. "The Premier League is the best league in the world and Manchester United is the perfect place for me to continue to develop as a player.

“This is an incredibly proud moment for me and my family, however, it is tinged with sadness that my father isn’t able to share this experience with us. I am looking forward to working with Ole, meeting the team and getting started.”

James rose through the ranks at Swansea before graduating to the senior squad in 2016 and became a regular in the team after a loan spell at Shrewsbury in 2017.

The young attacker racked up 34 appearances for the Swans last season, earning a place in Ryan Giggs' Wales squad for recent Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Swansea officials are sad to see James go, but club chairman Trevor Birch wished him well for the future while confirming his departure.

“We are obviously hugely disappointed to lose a player of Daniel’s quality, especially after such a fantastic breakthrough season for us and the enjoyment he gave to those watching him," Birch said.

“However, given the level of those performances and the fact he has one year remaining on his contract, it was inevitable that once a club of the calibre of Manchester United came calling it would be virtually impossible to hold on to him.

“It goes without saying that we wish him well at his new club, especially after the sad loss of his father recently.

“We can only thank Daniel for his contribution over the past season and the pleasure he brought to so many of us watching his performances. I’m sure he has a great future ahead of him and we wish him every success in his career.’’

Buhari: President Muhammadu Buhari vow to renamed Stadium after MKO and rebuild Nigeria

Buhari vows to rebuild Nigeria, renames stadium after MKO Dailysunnews9ja

Buhari vows to rebuild Nigeria, renames stadium after MKO

The President said this in a speech he read at the first National Democracy Day celebration in Abuja, stating that he approved June 12 as the nation’s Democracy Day as part of the healing and reconciliation efforts for the annulment of the presidential election.

He also said with purposeful leadership, the Federal Government could move 10 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.

But the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, said it was sad that the country was celebrating Democracy Day under Buhari, whose policies they claimed negated the June 12 spirit and ideals of the late Abiola.

They said the Buhari administration had desecrated all the nation’s democratic values and despoiled the electoral processes just to have itself in office

But in Abuja on Wednesday, Buhari honoured Abiola at the event witnessed by some of the children of the late politician, including Kola and Hafsat.

Also at the event were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, service chiefs, President of Rwanda, Gambia, DR Congo, Gabon, Guinea Bissau, Namibia and Senegal. Among other dignitaries that also witnessed the event were representatives of the governments of Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Iran, Benin Republic, Ireland, Egypt, India and Niger.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi were some of the invited monarchs for the ceremony.

Apart from honouring Abiola, the President also addressed diverse national issues and unfolded his government’s agenda on insecurity, economy and social security initiatives in the next four years.

Buhari said, “As we all know, correcting injustice is a pre-requisite for peace and unity. As part of the process of healing and reconciliation, I approved the recognition of June 12 as Democracy Day and conferred on the late Chief MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe national honours, as I did with the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi.

“The purpose was to partially atone for the previous damage done in annulling the Presidential election of that year. Today, I propose the renaming of the Abuja National Stadium. Henceforth it will be called Moshood Abiola National Stadium.”

Buhari noted that terrorism and insecurity had become worldwide phenomena, noting that even the best policed countries were experiencing increasing incidents of unrest.

He however said the security challenges facing the country were being met with superior strategy, firepower and resolve.

According to him, most of the instances of inter-communal and inter-religious strife and violence were sponsored or incited by ethnic, political or religious leaders, who he claimed, hoped to benefit by exploiting divisions and fault lines, thereby weakening the country.

The President said, “When I took the oath of office on May 29, 2015, insecurity reigned. Apart from occupying 18 local governments in the North-East, Boko Haram could at will attack any city including the Federal Capital Territory, could threaten any institution including bombing the United Nations building and the Police headquarters in Abuja.

“Admittedly, some of the challenges still remain in kidnappings and banditry in some rural areas. The great difference between 2015 and today is that we are meeting these challenges with much greater support to the security forces in terms of money, equipment and improved local intelligence. We are meeting these challenges with superior strategy, firepower and resolve.”

Buhari said as the chairman of ECOWAS, he would host a regional security summit of heads of states in the Sahel to develop a joint strategy to address security challenges in the region.

The President added that Nigeria had all ingredients to become a world leader.

“We have water, arable land, forests, oil and gas and vast quantities of solid minerals. We are blessed with an equable climate. However, the bulk of our real wealth lies in agriculture, livestock, forestry and mining. We possess all the ingredients of a major economic power on the world stage.

“What we require is the will to get our acts together. And our strength is in our people – our youth, our culture, our resilience, our ability to succeed despite the odds,” he added.

On the fight against corruption, Buhari said a lot of progress had been made, stressing however that corruption had found a way of fighting back.

He said, “At the heart of inequality and insecurity, is pervasive corruption. When we took office we realised that if you fight corruption, corruption will fight back – and we have seen this at all levels. For Nigeria to progress, a collective resolution to address corruption and foster broad-based prosperity is required to create a country that is not only for a few privileged, but for all Nigerians.”

He said the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index, which he claimed was the gauge of manufacturing activity in the country, had also risen for 26 consecutive months since March 2017.

This, he said, indicated continuous growth and expansion in the manufacturing sector.

Buhari however bemoaned the poor condition of roads leading to the nation’s seaports, which he said, had affected productivity.

He said, “It still takes too long for goods to clear at our seaports and the roads leading to them are congested. It still takes too long for routine and regulatory approvals to be secured. These issues affect our productivity and we are committed to addressing them permanently.”

According to the President, the new mandate that Nigerians gave him through the last election had revived the will to rebuild and reposition Nigeria through collaboration with states, council areas, legislators and diplomatic corps.

He also noted that Nigeria would improve on initiatives to reduce reliance on imported products and grow local production.

Buhari said, “For small-scale enterprises in towns and cities, we shall expand facilities currently available so that we continue to encourage and support domestic production of basic goods and reduce our reliance on imported goods.

“For the next four years, we will remain committed to improving the lives of people by consolidating efforts to address these key issues as well as emerging challenges of climate change, resettling displaced communities and dealing decisively with the new flashes of insecurity across the country, and the impacts on food scarcity and regional stability.”

Buhari said over the next four years, his government would assemble a strong team to implement its transformative plans in education, health, power, road construction and other sectors.

He said, “We will see significant focus, resource and where necessary reform, in tertiary and technical education to reposition Nigeria’s workforce for the modern technological age. We will accelerate investments in primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare programmes.”

We can move 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10yrs – Buhari

Also, Buhari said the APC-led Federal Government could move 100 million Nigerians out of poverty within 10 years.

“In the face of these challenges, our government elected by the people in 2015 and re-elected in March has been mapping out policies, measures and laws to maintain our unity and at the same time lift the bulk of our people out of poverty and onto the road to prosperity.

“This task is by no means unattainable. China has done it. India has done it. Indonesia has done it. Nigeria can do it. These are all countries characterised by huge burdens of population.

“China and Indonesia succeeded under authoritarian regimes. India succeeded in a democratic setting. We can do it.

“With leadership and a sense of purpose, we can lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.”

I renamed UNILAG after MKO, says Jonathan

Meanwhile, former President Goodluck Jonathan has said the Federal Government is being economical with the truth by claiming that Buhari is the first Nigerian leader to honour Abiola.

Jonathan in a statement by his media aide, Reno Omokri, on Wednesday said this claim was ridiculous as he renamed the University of Lagos after Abiola during his tenure.

He said, “This is a ridiculous assertion as the facts will prove…Between the National Stadium and the University of Lagos, which is more prestigious and which would require more courage to rename?

The former president also accused Buhari of inability to take courageous action against his cabinet members allegedly involved in corruption cases.

Jonathan said, “Recalled that former President Jonathan took several other courageous decisions during his Presidency, including firing two ministers when questions of impropriety were raised against them.

“There have been a number of serious and proven cases of impropriety involving Muhammadu Buhari’s ministers, including two incidents of clearly established cases of certificate forgery. Did Mr Buhari have the courage to move against them?”

Buhari’s speech showed disregard for tenets of democracy – PDP

However, the PDP in its reaction, said it was a national tragedy that Nigeria’s Democracy Day was celebrated under the Buhari-led APC government.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement also insisted that the Buhari Presidency and the APC should not have celebrated Democracy Day when they were still overburdened by the guilt of their questionable presidential electoral victory.

Ologbondiyan said, “President Buhari did not express any form of remorse for the barefaced constitutional violations, assault on institutions of democracy, particularly the legislature and the judiciary; human rights violations, assault on the media; and the general siege mentality in the polity under his watch.

“It is sad that on a day like this, Mr President dwelt on false performance claims and had no soothing word for millions of compatriots that have been subjected to the worst form of economic misery that they are now resorting to suicide and slavery mission abroad.”

The PDP spokesman also said the speech had no words of hope for the victims of escalated insurgency, kidnapping, banditry and bloodletting in the country.

He said, “How can this administration superintend over a Democracy Day celebration when it has questions of constitutional violations, electoral manipulations, media clampdown, victimisation of opposition, emasculation of free speech, brutalisation, arbitrary arrests and illegal detention, as already detailed in various reports, including those by the United States Department of State?”

Ologbondiyan stated that it was disheartening that the same electoral manipulation, violations and injustices for which the icon of June 12 Democracy Day, Chief Moshood Abiola died, had allegedly brazenly taken the centre stage under the APC misrule.

Buhari’s actions negate what June 12 stands for – Atiku

Also its presidential candidate said it was not enough to declare June 12, Democracy Day.

Atiku, in a statement, said, “Suffice it to state that the idea of June 12 is not merely to declare it as a Democracy Day – much as celebratory and commendable it might seem, the idea behind the event of June 12, 1993 embodies something much more bigger than that.

“It was a threshold moment in our national life that demands of us, as democrats, to embark on soul-searching and ask the salient question of all time: how better off are Nigerians?

“It is not enough to declare June 12 a Democracy Day when the government of the day is disrespectful of the rule of law and wantonly disregards court orders on issues that border on fundamental human rights.

“It is not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when a disproportionate number of citizens are not sure of where their next meal will come from and when the sanctity of their lives is not guaranteed.

“It is not enough to declare June 12 a work-free day when freedom of the press, and of speech, fundamentals of democracy is being assailed.

“As a compatriot who stood shoulder to shoulder with the icon of the June 12 struggle, the Chief Moshood Abiola of blessed memory, I know first-hand that the choice of ‘hope’ as his campaign slogan wasn’t merely a populist tokenism.”

He stated that Abiola did not mean to deceive Nigerians with a hope he could not deliver.

Atiku said, “It is therefore not acceptable that an administration which had an opportunity of four years to deliver the promise of change to Nigerians, not only reneged on that promise, but propelled the country into a near-comatose state will lay claims to being a true friend of the June 12 struggle.

“To be a lover of June 12 is to believe in the common good of the people. June 12 is about the political leadership having the focus to retool the Nigerian economy. It is about having the skills to create wealth and jobs for the teeming mass of unemployed Nigerians. It is not about the inclination for shared pains; it is about shared prosperity.”

APC hails Buhari, says honour for MKO corrects past injustice

But the APC, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said the day was significant and momentous.

The party said, “Today’s celebration is not only significant in the annals of our political history, but also momentous in all ramifications.

“The President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government has once again demonstrated its avowed commitment to correct past injustices and celebrate heroes and heroines that paid the supreme sacrifice for the democratic freedom that we all cherish and enjoy today.

“In correcting past injustices, the APC-led government is also committed to equitable administration of our commonwealth for the benefit of all Nigerians.”

Nigeria needs June 12 spirit to remain united – Kola Abiola

Also, a son of the late Abiola, Kola, said Nigeria must reawaken the spirit of June 12, 1993 for the nation to grow stronger.

He spoke at the Democracy Day celebration.

Kola said, “People voted for MKO Abiola across Nigeria as one Nigeria irrespective of religion or tribe, that is why we have this day. We must not lose the fact that (for the June 12, 1993 presidential election) we had a Muslim/Muslim ticket, we had someone viewed as a true and detribalised Nigerian and we had a situation where across the board, parties, religion, ethnicity, schools, all voted for one person.

“In the last 26 years, we have lost that. We have to come back to that now. All our leaders, irrespective of their political inclination, irrespective of religion should come together under the leadership of President Buhari and hold this nation together. Without that, this day becomes irrelevant.”

Also at the venue, MKO Abiola’s daughter, Hafsat Abiola-Costello, told one of our correspondents that her father did not betray Nigerians and that the spirit of June 12 should be expected under President Buhari.

She said, “Today is the fulfilment of my father’s vision. He trusted the Nigerian people that they would always defend him. He could not betray them and today we could see that Nigerians have not betrayed MKO Abiola.”

Pastor Commands member to take off her pants during church service

Dailysunnews9ja

When we think we have seen it all in the bizarre things ‘Men of God’ do in church and with their members, another outrageous one finds its way out.

This time, a man of God identified as Pastor Sobrino Valdeci Picanto, a Nigerian based in Brazil, has been arrested for ordering a lady to take off her pants and open her legs wide for the spirit of pregnancy to penetrate into her vagina.

The same pastor is also said to have persuaded some of his followers to suck his manhood saying that it had sanctified ‘milk’ to heal them from bad omens instantly.

“He convinced us that only God could come into our lives through the mouth and asked us to do perform oral acts on him until the Holy Spirit came through seed and delivered funds to the church.” a follower spilled out

Sobrino Valdeci Picanto, 59, was arrested in Apore, Goiás, Brazil, for raping several women attending his church.

He gave as an excuse that his reproductive organs had been consecrated with “divine seminal fluid of the Holy Spirit and that the Lord had consecrated him with the divine milk of the spirit”

Valdecir came to abuse some elderly, and defended himself by saying that he “had an encounter with Jesus in a brothel and gave him the mission of spreading the sacred semen throughout the state, beginning with the faithful Apore Assembly, of which he is responsible.”

Denise Pinheiro, delegate of the region, said, “Valdecir was caught red-handed while rubbing his reproductive units in the face of a local merchant, which he promised to make her more sales in her business due to the divine liquid.

“When we acted Valdecir offered no resistance and even asked if I wanted to be part of the kingdom of heaven on the way to the police station.”

Omokri begs Buhari to negotiate Leah Sharibu's release

Omokri begs Buhari to negotiate Leah Sharibu's release

Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, on Saturday appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to negotiate with Boko Haram over the release of Leah Sharibu.

Omokri made the appeal while sharing a photograph of Buhari and his children.

The former presidential aide insisted that Leah’s father, Nathan Irmiya would also love to take a photograph with his daughter, hence the need for negotiation.

Sharibu was abducted by Boko Haram insurgents on the night of February 19, 2018 alongside her schoolmates from Government Science College, Dapchi in Yobe State.

The abducted student has remained in custody of the insurgents for refusing to denounce her Christian faith.

However, Omokri, in a tweet wrote: “Dear @MBuhari,

“Leah’s father, Nathan Irmiya Sharibu, also wants to take a picture like this with his daughter, Leah Sharibu.

“Please, I BEG on my KNEES, enter into negotiation with Boko Haram to #FreeLeahSharibu.

“Please join me in RETWEETING till Muhammadu Buhari sees this.”
